Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC®) Certified lumber, plywood, and tropical hardwoods provide all the environmental benefits of wood plus the approval of the most widely-recognized (and LEED®-accepted) international forest certification scheme.
American Lumber has held certification since 2007, making us the first wholesale distributor of our kind to sell FSC material in this part of the country. We stock the largest and by far the broadest inventory of FSC Certified cedar and pine, as well as other specialties, of any other wholesaler in the northeast.
Wood is a renewable and sustainable resource that is increasingly harvested under stringent rules intended to ensure sustainable land use. The ANSI certified Life Cycle Audit process has established that wood as a building material is considerably better, environmentally speaking, than concrete or steel. FSC Certification conveys the world-recognized assurance that the wood is sourced from well-managed forests.
FSC Certification must be specified when required. Not all American Lumber products carry certification. If you have questions about FSC Certification or the availability of FSC Certified products, please call us.
